Four stars largely based on very low expectations that were exceeded. Manny's it's not, but I was expecting absolute crap and got something a bit better than decent. I;m just not a buffet guy so I can't compare it to the other Mystic option, but I got a fine surf and turf and did not break the bank. Supper club quality is what I'd give it and that's far more than I expected as a captive audience.

Spotted Mystic Steakhouse when they first announced alcoholic beverages were becoming available. Food was average and service was poor. Now that alcohol is throughout the Casino there is no reason to visit the Steakhouse. The Mystic buffet on the other hand is one of the best buffets in the metro and I highly recommend, especially the dessert (and chicken wild rice soup)

I really didn't expect great food at a casino steak house. I was shocked! I had the prime rib and it was delicious! ( water tasted like smoke, but what do you expect at smoking casino) Great food, great server.!

I am really surprised there are only 2 reviews for this place and even more surprised they are both 2 stars. I have been about 5 times and can't say that I was dissatisfied with anything I have ordered. It really stinks waiting in line, especially when Diamond Members or whatever they are get ushered in before you, but I don't fault the restaurant for that. You hear people compare this to the buffet, which is also good and about the same price but a totally different experience in my opinion. I have always had good service at the restaurant in Mystic whether it was Mystic Steakhouse, Ribbons or the Italian place that disappeared so fast I can't think of the name. I don't mind mixing in the buffet every once in a while, but the price is similar and I think the food is better here. I have had the Salmon, Rib Eye and most frequently the Filet Mignon. I usually opt for the Au Gratin potatoes since I like those the most and whatever vegetable they are serving, usually asparagus. Salmon can often be dry and sometimes overly fishy, but this place does it right, consistently moist with a good buttery garlic flavor. The Filet is always great, it's very tender and cooked with the perfect amount of red in the center, definitely my in laws favorite dish. I wouldn't recommend appetizers here, they are fairly expensive and are not very generous on the serving size especially the Crab Cakes, if you do want an app then go with the Walleye Fingers. Dessert on the other hand is a different story, priced very well at less than $6 for everything and really good portions. I would suggest the Cheese Cake, can't go wrong with Cheese Cake.

Someone must have taken over, because we had the best meal I think I've ever had at a steakhouse last night. My filet was spectacular, my husband's prime rib was spectacular. Service was A++. W spoke with the gentleman at the next table, who agreed with us, that we would visit Mystic's steakhouse before ever going back downtown. This could be a great destination if you keep it up!

While staying in the area, we went there with friends based on the reviews here and on Open Table (overall good). We were very pleased with the food and service and surroundings. We had broiled lobster, shrimp, lamb and another steamed lobster between us. Everyone stated their meal was excellent and the shrimp I had may have been the best shrimp I have ever had. Our server was well versed in the menu and the wine list. The wines ranged from affordable to very high priced. We had no problem getting ones we liked at a reasonable price. I would go back any time. Nice to get good bread with a meal as well. Do be careful though, they do have some smoking area, be sure to request to stay a good distance away. If it had been 100% no smoking it would get a 5 star rating.

I have been a customer at all of the restaurants at Mystic Lake since they opened. They had an excellent restaurant-Ribbons- then changed it to Italian fare which didn't last long, now they have gone the route of 'Steak and Seafood'. I have eaten there 3 times since they opened. The first time was amazing. I got an excellent waiter and received 5* service and food. I had tenderoin medallions with fresh asapagus and bearnaise sauce, a wonderful Caesar and a server that properly offered fresh ground pepper with both courses. There is no alcohol here which is fine by me and I am stupid enough when it comes to gamblind. The second time I had cold food, horrible service and no amenities. My server was very inexperienced and I had to track her down for a check. It was so bad that I wrote Mystic Lake about it. They kindly wrote me back and apolilgized and I was very detailed in what their server was missing; hair pulled back, water glass without the servers fingers on the rim, offering choices for sides, offering fresh ground pepper, checking back to see how the meal was etc etc. I was told that the Food and Bev Director would be in touch but nothing came of it. The orignal person sent me coupons for a free dinner which was very nice and thanked me for my letter. Since I am in the hotel/restaurant business I appreicate when someone takes the time to tell me rights as well as wrongs. I went last week and ordered the BBQ ribs-they had to be a week old, and were served cold. Tough, cold and a horrible smell to them as if they had gone past their prime. While I do understand food costs, the Head Chef should be able to eye ball how many orders a night and put that number of racks in his slow roasted oven that day so they are fresh. I have had the ribs many times in the past at Ribbons and they were awesome. The carrots were not cooked--not talking al'dente here, they were raw and cold. A hot towel used to be provided for hand cleaning, but not at the upscale restaurant???? No offer of fresh ground pepper either. Just saying, if you want to be a player with Manny's, Porterhouse and such, train your servers. If the head of your kitchen is ok with serving old food-Sorry for review, but I feel I have been very fair in re-assessing this restaurant. It's a shame too because it's a lovely restaurant and they certainly had enough staff on to make sure food was fresh and well made and servers were well-trained and professional.

My husband and I came to Mystic Lake Casino for the first time on the weekend of the Super Moon, July 12, 2014. It had rained a lot earlier that day, but around 5pm it cleared up and the sun came out and it looked like it was going to be a beautiful evening. And it was! At 8:30pm after wandering the Casino to see what's on the menu, we decided to dine at Mystic Steakhouse, due to our love of steak and our desire to try something different because tonight we didn't want to do the Buffet. I was super surprised at how good the food actually was! Shame on me for doubting! I can compare this steakhouse to other finer establishments downtown Minneapolis, and I will say it's on par, if not better, than the fancy steakhouses downtown beginning with an M, and the other one's initials is CG. And I've been to them both. I ordered the Ribeye Steak Combination Plate, with broiled sea scallops in butter sauce. WOW. For $33 you get a monstrous plate of perfectly grilled medium steak (16oz), and a little boat of scallops, including your potato choice (I got baked potato with sour cream and buttah) and it comes with a salad. Their steakhouse salad is divine! It had grapes, spinach, mixed greens, gorgonzola and apple slices with a balsamic vinaigrette. SERIOUSLY. I love how it's all included and you don't have to pay extra for sides and salads like at other (more expensive) places. Husband ordered the New York Strip which he said was one of the best he'd eaten. I tried a bit and it was delicious too! We both ordered Bearnaise boats (of course) and it was a perfect accompaniment to steak and scallops. Dinners also come with fresh warm bread and butter. Service was outstanding. He got a nice tip from us, we really appreciate good service and will tip accordingly. I would make the 30 mile drive down from the City to eat here over choosing a place closer to home, for something new and refreshing. It's so worth it. Surprisingly elegant, relaxing, and very satisfying dinner. Use your Club Mystic card to get 5% off your bill too. Thanks Mystic Steakhouse!

Ambiance and server was pleasant. Food=high quality, badly prepared. Crab cakes tasted like fresh crab, but over cooked and too much breading. $30 seafood boil had fresh crab legs, but shrimp were overlooked, clams were not fresh, and broth was tasteless and lackluster. The best part of the meal was the salad that came with the food. For a $50 dinner for one, i wouldn't come back unless the quality improved. Disappointed. Should have gone to the $10 noodles in the regular fast food part of mystic.

Had the filet mignon with lobster tail, delicious. . Mashed potatoes very flavorful. I've been here at least 5 times now. Not once was I ever disappointed. Pricey, but worth it.

We got the 12 oz New York Strip. The seasoning was unremarkable and the meat quality was just OK. It cost $25. I would not drive out of my way to go here.
